RusAccreditation Holds 2018 Review Board Meeting

On June 5, the Board of the Federal Service for Accreditation held a meeting that addressed the results of activities of RusAccreditation in 2018 and its tasks for 2019 and in mid-term. The event was attended by Maxim Oreshkin, Minister for Economic Development of Russia, Savva Shipov, Deputy Minister for Economic Development of Russia, Alexey Khersontsev, Chief of RusAccreditation. Also, representatives of the Accounts Chamber of Russia, the Eurasian Economic Commission, standing committees and working groups of the Public Council of RusAccreditation, and business associations were present at the meeting.

According to the Minister, another important vector for RusAccreditation’s activities is the promotion of export and the process of gaining international recognition in certification. Moreover, he emphasized the significance of the cooperation with the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in Good Laboratory Practice. The Minister said that the Federal Service for Accreditation should maintain its enthusiastic participation in the digital transformation of the accreditation system.

Alexey Khersontsev noted that RusAccreditation’s priority is to develop the infrastructure of trust to Russian goods and services in businesses, government, and society of Russia. Trust, accompanied by teamwork, competence, and technology, is the core value of the Federal Service for Accreditation.

RusAccreditation arranged several major events as part of the interaction with market participants and experts: the 5th All-Russian Congress of Accreditation Experts, the All-Russian Forum of Accredited CABs, and the International GLP Forum.

Alexey Khersontsev named the adoption of new standards ISO/IEC 17011:2017 and ISO/IEC 17025:2017, with reference to RusAccreditation’s re-evaluation by international organization scheduled for 2020, the key tasks for 2019. This year, RusAccreditation is to undergo a GLP system audit by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development. The Federal Service for Accreditation will improve the efficiency of work with unfair accredited CABs, develop information systems and integrate them with systems of other agencies, and create a single educational platform of the national accreditation system.

Due to the celebration of World Accreditation Day, participants of the meeting were presented with a video address by Xiao Jianhua, Chairman of the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and Chairman of the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS), who noted that RusAccreditation had joined IAF as a full member last year. «We can say that the Russian accreditation system finished its integration with the global accreditation system in 2018. I am convinced that this is a win-win scenario for everyone: Russian manufacturers and exporters get a valuable tool that can improve the competitiveness of their goods abroad, while the international accreditation system expands its sphere of influence adding a seventh part of the Earth and becoming truly global», - he said in the video.

Deputy Minister for Economic Development of Russia Savva Shipov thanked employees of the Central Office and territorial bodies of RusAccreditation, specialists of the RusAccreditation National Accreditation Institute, and members of the RusAccreditation Public Council for their efforts. According to him, the Federal Service for Accreditation not only solves the present-day tasks but also strives for change and is willing to be ahead. «Your openness to changes is something you can be proud of. I wish you sincerely for the oncoming year to leave all the previous years behind in terms of success. You have what you need for it — first of all, the people who are the driver of change», - Savva Shipov said.
