Results of the meeting on the establishment of a Regional Organization (Association) for accreditation in the Eurasian space

On July 30, in the format of a videoconference, there was held a meeting of representatives of the national accreditation bodies of the CIS member states, dedicated to the creation of a Regional Organization (Association) for Accreditation (ROA) in the Eurasian space.The event was attended by representatives of the accreditation bodies of the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Moldova, the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Russian Federation, as well as employees of the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the Department of Technical Regulation and Accreditation of the Eurasian Economic Commission and Bureau for Standards of the Interstate Council for Standardization, Metrology and Certification.

During the meeting, the organizational and legal mechanism for creating ROA was discussed. There was an exchange of opinions on this issue. The meeting participants, in general, approved the updated draft of the "road map" for the creation of ROA, prepared by the National Center for Accreditation of the Republic of Kazakhstan. A decision was made to focus joint efforts on finalizing the key documents of ROA, including in terms of their compliance with the requirements set by the international organizations ILAC and IAF.

Dmitry Gogolev, Deputy Head of RusAccreditation, proposed to combine the efforts of interested national accreditation bodies of the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union and the CIS on a single platform. He said that RusAccreditation had already prepared a draft of ROA Charter and a number of other key documents, as well as examples of ROA logos. The draft Charter of ROA revised taking into account the comments and suggestions received from the participants of the meeting would be presented in August for the final agreement of the parties.
