On July 27, the 57th meeting of the Interstate Council for Standardization, Metrology and Certification (EASC) of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) took place in the format of a videoconference. Delegations of the national standardization and accreditation bodies of the Russian Federation, the Azerbaijan Republic, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Moldova, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, Ukraine, representatives of the CIS Executive Committee and the Bureau for Standards took part in the work of EASC.
About 20 issues were considered at the meeting. In particular, the report on the results of the Council's work for the period between the 55th and 57th meetings of EASC was heard. The participants of the event discussed the implementation of EASC decisions, the results of the activities of EASC working bodies, as well as the EASC Development Strategy for the period up to 2030 and the implementation of the EASC Action Plan for the period from 2016 to 2020.
At the event, they also discussed the measures taken in the CIS member states in the field of technical regulation, standardization, ensuring uniformity of measurements, conformity assessment, accreditation and supervision aimed at minimizing the negative consequences caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
During the meeting, the chairman of the Committee for Technical Regulation and Metrology of the Ministry of Investment and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Arman Shakkaliev, was re-elected as Chairman of EASC.
